Mui Ne Beach Escapade 8-9 Aug 2009 ~ Day 1 Part 1

In celebration of our 1 year Anniversary, we planned a trip to Mui Ne, about 198km from HCMC.

Mui Ne – a place which has long been considered the "Hawaii” of Vietnam. Before our trip, I did a 17-page research for our 2D1N escapade. Haha…still worth it as we found some good bargains and good food. If you have been to HCMC, this is a totally different worthwhile experience. Amazingly, both of us took 600+ photos for 2 days 1 night.

Silas and I set up at 5am, heading for the much-awaited Mui Ne beach. We hired a driver to bring us there (120USD). We were comfortably settled in a Daewoo saloon car for a 3-4 hrs drive to our love destination – Mui Ne.

Sun rising behind the house...doesn't it seem like a glowing fire?

In our Hired Car

Hehe…both of us fell asleep in the car as we played ‘Ramy’ with his fellow colleagues the day before. Thankfully, it was quite a smooth and safe journey there. We reached there at 830am, earlier than expected.

Checked in at the Seahorse Resort and Spa. It is well landscaped and with an immaculate garden. Luckily, the room was available then.

We wanted to go for the Jeep tour. So, found out some tours from the friendly receptionist who can speak good English. :) Tours from the hotel was a little pricey. So, after checking in, we got our driver to bring us to Sinh café, the travel agency further down the road to check out and compare tour prices. The jeep tour here is more expensive (45USD) than what the hotel quoted me (40USD), coz maybe the receptionist mentioned that we had our own driver, so she gave us a better price! Hee…still not convinced, we gave a final shot at the travel agency, right opposite our hotel. We managed to get a good deal as it was low season then. We paid 26USD for a jeep tour to 4-designated tourist attractions. Namely: Fairy Stream, Fishing Village, White Sand Dunes and Red/Yellow Sand Dunes. The driver even made an extra stopover at the Red Canyon.

Got our Jeep tour from this agency...very comical salesperson.

We had our brunch at a Korean restaurant. Food is so-so but considered quite reasonable. 2 set meals for 10USD only. Then we went back to our room for a rest before going for the jeep tour.

We went for the tour at 2pm. Before that, Darling bought a pair of ‘Prada’ sunglasses for me (haizcoz blur me forgot to bring mine) Running short of time, this was the shortest time I took to buy a pair of glasses!!! 5 min! So we didn’t manage to get a good bargain I feel (250,000D). I think the salesperson must be very happy to serve both of us! Hahaha

The Jeep Tour was definitely more expensive than a bus tour. But I’m glad we chose it. A breezy and fun ride. The view was awesome.
