Updates!

2 weeks plus in Vung Tau already... (",)

Quite a few things to do while settling down in this new enironment...Busily Busy...

  1. Packing & Unpacking

  2. Applying for Resident Visa (I need to get ready 2 passport-sized photos for Silas' company)

I can somehow understand the difficulty that Silas has to face in his work. Mainly because of Communication/language barrier? Not really lei. I still remembered both of us pointed to the lady the exact size we wanted. We also pointed out to the ONE we DIDN'T want and we shook our hands to signify a NO-NO for that (maybe that's the problem, 越描越黑). Silas tried to explain in his limited Vietnamese too.

In the end, we got what we wanted? unless the NO-NO means a YES-YES to the Vietnamese. I better find out more. Anyway, the fotos were really too big for us to close one eye, so we told the lady those wasn't the right size. She got a man to re-develop for us, a little 不爽 but who cares! That's not the end, she offered us to buy the BIG ones at 5,000D. We did not and got a 黑脸 in the end. Come to think of it, Silas told me it's actually only less than S$0.50. (Hahaha) Anyway, cheap deal. We got 4 pcs at 20,000D (~S$2) after an hour + 15 mins (re-developing)!

  3. Planning what to cook and Coming up with MENU for the WEEK

  4. Searching for Recipes online, from friends and via phone (who else but my Wonderful 妈) Got some easy-to-cook and nice recipes... update in my later posts.

  5. Marketing (buying of groceries and items that I need but are missing in the Apartment)

Bought a non-stick tefal 24-cm pan coz the one provided in the apartment is heavy and worse, it sticks! Very happy with this buy (145,000D, ~$11.50). I even bought hooks (quite cheap, 3 for 10,000D (~S$0.80)) to hold my cooking pans and stuff. Saw the blue 3-tier basket below(centre), not provided, bought it at less than S$3.50 i think. Small chopping board @ about S$1.50 (for fruits!). Big one is provided.

Hmm...what else? Oh yah, I bought a weighing scale(right) too, limited choices and colour not my preferred. Not cheap, ~S$8. Bought and brought over from Singapore is the all-time favourite - Slow Cooker!(left) Helped me cook many types of soup, simply love it as I don't have to watch over the fire.

  6. Sorting!!! (This is really challenging-I need to make sure the groceries are well-kept in the fridge and use in the order of their 'life span' preferably to minimise wastage!)

Cannot imagine I've to do this here. The vege comes in big pack, so to 'preserve' them longer, I got to sort them out before I keep them in the fridge. <<<1.>>>

  7. Washing Clothes and Ironing

  8. Exercising (need to be more disciplined! :p)

  9. Taking photographs of places I've been and food that I've made and eaten!

  10. Be a tourist...(usually over the weekends)

  11. Blogging...and more!

The list goes on... till the next post...

ps: Dong (D) = Vietnamese Currency (1SGD = ~12000D)
