Silas & I are not living at the heart of the bustling HCMC. We are residing at a city called Vung Tau, closer proximity to his workplace. (still about an hour drive away)
Vung Tau, known under the French as Cap Saint Jacques, is a beach resort located in the south of Vietnam. The ships' activities here inspired the name Vũng Tàu, which means "anchorage".
It is about 120km from HCMC. Its close location to HCMC and its beauty and fresh air makes it a very popular destination for weekends. It is blissfully dead during the weekdays but drones with action on weekends. We can see many locals during the weekends or even thursday nights sometimes, relaxing by the beachfront.
Vung Tau lies on a small peninsula jutting into the South China Sea. There are two famous mountains, Big Mountain (Nui Lon) and Small Mountain (Nui Nho). Back Beach (Bai Sau) stretches for kilometres, with a white sandy beach and many hotels and guesthouses. You'll find the downtown action at Front Beach (Bai Troc) but no beach...hahaha :)

Silas & I stay at the Front Beach area, a very serene and cosy place overseeing the South China Sea. Up next...Seaview Residence! (",)
